Seasonal Employment

Applications for seasonal employment are accepted all year long. The application can be found below. Examples of seasonal employment include all positions at the City swimming pool and laborer positions in various departments during the summer months.

Employment

With the exception of seasonal applications, the City of St. Marys only accepts applications for employment when there is a vacancy posted. At such time, employment applications may be downloaded below or can be obtained at the Municipal Building.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT TO CHIEF OF POLICE/CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
 

The City of St. Marys is accepting applications for a full-time Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Police/Code Enforcement Officer.  Performs administrative and confidential secretarial duties for Chief and staff.  Patrols City parking lots and downtown district and enforces parking ordinances.  Enforces zoning code including unlicensed motor vehicles, junk motor vehicles, portable signs, high/noxious weeds and trash complaints.  Prepares and distributes violation notices, citations, and reports; coordinates abatement actions; testifies in court; provides information on codes and ordinances to the public.  Performs dispatching duties as required.  High school diploma required with advanced coursework/experience in office/business practices.  Must be skilled in Word, Excel, typing, and data entry.  Must be able to communicate effectively and handle sensitive inquiries from officials and the public.  Valid Ohio driver’s license is required.  Normal hours 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Some weekends and nights.  Starting wage is $18.75 per hour.  Application available below or at the Municipal Building at 101 E. SEASONAL TAX CLERK 

The City of St. Marys is accepting applications for a seasonal clerk in our Tax Department.  Duties include scanning files, answering phone, opening and distributing mail, and computer input.  Position available during tax season, February through May, twenty to forty hours per week.  Wage is $8.30 per hour.  EOE

 

REFUSE WORKER

Applications are currently being accepted for a full-time Refuse Worker in our Solid Waste Department.  Must have or acquire a CDL.  Starting wage is $16.43 per hour.  Application available below or at the Municipal Building at 101 E. Spring Street, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., M-F.  Deadline for application is October 12th.  EOE
