Kraig E. Noble has served as the elected Law Director of St. Marys since January 1, 1980. The law director's position is a part-time position.  Mr. Noble also engages in private practice with the law firm of Noble, Montague & Moul. The law director attends all meetings of council and many other city bodies. He oversees the preparation of legislation for council's consideration and acts as the general legal advisor to the municipality. Over his career, Mr. Noble has represented the City of St. Marys in all levels of courts, including the Ohio Supreme Court and Federal Courts.

Auglaize County has a County Municipal Court and the St. Marys Law Director serves as prosecutor for cases filed under city code by the municipal police department. On the civil side, Mr. Noble, as Law Director, has been involved in economic development matters and the other civil law issues including contract and real estate. He is a member of the Ohio Municipal Attorneys Association and has been active in the Ohio State Bar Association serving a term on its Board of Governors.

As part of his duties prescribed by law, Mr. Noble is the statutory legal counsel for the St. Marys Board of Education.

Mr. Noble is a life-long resident of St. Marys, having graduated from St. Marys Memorial High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and law degree from the University of Michigan.  He was admitted to the Bar in 1974.

Zach G. Ferrall serves as Assistant Law Director of the City of St. Marys.  He is also an associate attorney in the law firm of Noble, Montague & Moul, LLC.  He is a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School, Wright State University, University of Cincinnati, and the Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law.  Mr. Ferrall assists the law director in the performance of his duties by attending meetings in his absence and also representing the city in various legal actions before the courts of Ohio.
