St. Marys Kiwanis and Heritage Trails Park District Invites Everyone to Enjoy the Miami & Erie Canal Towpath Trail on the Annual Walk With Nature and Fall Festival in Memorial Park on Sunday, October 16, 2016, Noon - 5:00 p.m.

September 24, 2016  7:30 a.m.  Half Marathon runners will finish at Memorial Park.

Trick or Treat

Trick or Treat in the City of St. Marys is scheduled for Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

K-9 Swim!

The City of St. Marys first annual K-9 swim will be held Saturday, September 10th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Family Aquatic Center.  Dogs will be permitted to swim in the leisure pool.  The event is free; however, donations will be accepted and will go to the Auglaize County Dog Warden.

Luke Turpin Promoted To Police Sergeant

On May 30th, Luke Turpin was promoted to Police Sergeant.  Sgt. Turpin has been with the department since 2008 and is a graduate of Memorial High School and Edison State Community College.  Congratulations Luke!! 

National Garbage Man Day

The week of June 17 is National Garbage Man Day. A week to join together to recognize and thank the women and men who work to keep our neighborhoods and streets safe and clean!  A special thank you to our crew, Trent, Corey, Corey, Austin, and Doug! We appreciate your hard work!


Register for your 2016 pool membership online!

You may register for a pool membership online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Simple press the Family Aquatic Center Membership link on the home page of the City’s web site.  Payment can be made at the Aquatic Center or Municipality Building.  Payment can also be mailed to the City of St. Marys at 101 E. Spring Street, St. Marys.  Registration is also available at the Aquatic Center; however, you will save time if you register online rather than registering at the pool.    

Employees Receive Recognition

St. Rita's Medical Center Emergency Services recently recognized three employees from our Fire Department for their excellence in cardiac care on March 24, 2016.  Congratulations to Firefighter/Paramedic Doug Beougher, Jacob Berelsman, and Joshua Haney; job well done!


Excess or Expired Drug Collection Drop Off

St. Marys now has a permanent MedReturn Drug Collection Unit.

Citizens looking to dispose of excess and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications can now visit the safe and secure permanent drop off location at the City of St. Marys Fire Department.

Department Welcomes New Officer

The Police Department welcomes its newest employee, Officer Nathaniel McMaster.  Nathaniel is from Van Wert, Ohio and has a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Wright State University.  Welcome aboard!

Community Garage Sales

Community garage sales set for May 6-7 in St. Marys.  A directory of sales sites is available at local banks, groceries, restaurants, video store, and the Chamber of Commerce office.

2015 Community Grant

A 2015 Community Grant through the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency helped purchase the following for the City of St. Marys to better serve our community and business recycling efforts.  We were able to purchase a used 2008 Hino 20 yard packer truck and 10 rear load hoppers for cardboard collections.

Terry Hubbell and Harry McPheron Retire

Supt. of General Services, Terry Hubbell, retired March 31st after 34+ years of service.  Harry McPheron's last day was also March 31st after three years of service.  Congratulations!  Enjoy your retirement and come back and see us.  Thank you for your years of service.

Temporary Road Closing

Greenville Road is closed west of Aqueduct Road for the next two weeks to replace the culvert.  K. C. Geiger Park will still be accessible from the west entrance. 


Taxpayer Assistance

The Tax Office will be open on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 9 am - 12 pm for anyone who needs help preparing their City tax return.

Access to Polling Location For Primary Election

During the primary election on Tuesday, March 15th, access will be available to the Union Hall polling location located at 227 E. South Street.  Chestnut Street will be open as well as South Street, west of the canal.  Access will not be available from the Spruce Street and South Street intersection.  The drive to the Union Hall parking lot may have limited access; however, the Armory parking lot will be available and the Chestnut Street parking lot. 

Notice To Customers

Beginning today, March 1st, and for the next 3 to 5 days, City employees will be placing a door hanger notice on the front door of all residents to inform you about the upcoming implementation of the advanced metering infrastructure for our water and electric utilities.  Below is the information on the notice.  Please contact the Utility Office at (419) 394-3303 if you have any questions.  Thank you.

The City of St. Marys Fire Department welcomes its newest member, Firefighter Joshua Haney.   Josh comes from the Dayton area and has a bachelor's degree from Wilmington College.  His father is a Captain with the Dayton Fire Department and is pictured below pinning on his badge.
