The City of St. Marys intends to award a contract for the construction of an 8400 S.F. wood frame structure that will be utilized for storage of vehicles and miscellaneous items. The contractor is responsible for construction of the facility as shown in the plans and bid specifications. The City will provide the electric service up to the building, provide the sanitary lateral within 5’ of the building foundation and place the storm drainage around the structure. The contractor shall provide the structure, doors, windows, fixtures, finishes, electric, plumbing and all site work including concrete footers, foundation and slabs along with final grade as shown on the attached plans. The owner will provide State of Ohio approved permits and pay all fees. The Contractors will coordinate their work and call for all inspections with the State of Ohio as required.
The City will accept bids for a steel frame structure per specifications. If the contractor chooses to submit a bid for a steel frame structure, a preliminary plan and specifications for the building must be submitted with the bid. If the bid for a steel frame structure is awarded, the contractor will be responsible for all engineering cost and State plan approval along with associated cost.
NOTICE TO CONTRACTOR
Public Notice is hereby given that the City of St. Marys will receive sealed bids for the St. Marys General Services Storage Building Project 2016 until twelve o’clock noon local time, December 13, 2016, in the City of St. Marys Municipal Building, 101 E. Spring Street, St. Marys, Ohio 45885.
Plans and specifications are on file and available at the City of St. Marys Engineering Office at 101 E. Spring Street, St. Marys, Ohio 45885. A non-refundable deposit in the amount of $50.00 will be required for each set of plans and specifications. The check must be made payable to the City of St. Marys, Ohio. All bidders shall be registered on the Plan Holders List to be considered for award.
Each bidder is required to furnish with their proposal, a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code, in order for the bid to be considered and accepted. Bid security furnished in Bond form, shall be issued by a Surety Company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.
Each proposal must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each bidder must submit evidence on projects of similar size and complexity, and a complete listing of all subcontractors to be used. The owner intends and requires that this project be completed no later than September 15, 2017.
All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will, to the extent practicable, use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of their project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123, the Governor’s Executive Order of 1972, and Governor’s Executive Order 84-9 shall be required.
No bidder shall be permitted to withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the time of opening of bids.
All bids are to be on a form furnished by the City Engineer and submitted in a sealed envelope with the name of the bidder and the project noted plainly on the outside.
The Engineer’s Estimate for this project is $225,000.00.
The City of St. Marys reserves the right to waive any irregularities and to reject any or all bids.
