PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT

The City of St. Marys intends to contract for engineering and surveying services in connection with the City of St. Marys U.S. Rt. 33 Pedestrian Bridge Project in the City of St. Marys, Ohio. Engineering firms interested in being considered for a contract to provide the required services should reply with a Statement of Qualifications no later than 12:00 noon on September 15, 2017. Statements received after this deadline will not be considered.

Statements of Qualifications should include information regarding: the firm's history, education and experience of owners and key technical personnel, technical expertise of the firm's current staff, the firm's experience in designing similar projects, availability of staff, the firm's equipment and facilities, references, and any previous work performed for the City of St. Marys.

As required by Ohio Revised Code§ 153.65-71, responding firms will be evaluated and ranked in order of their qualifications.  Following this evaluation, the City of St. Marys will enter into contract negotiations with the most highly qualified firm.

The preliminary project description is as follows:

NAME OF PROJECT:    City of St. Marys U.S. Rt. 33 Pedestrian Bridge Project

LOCATION:                   The pedestrian bridge will span across U.S. Rt. 33 approximately 1000’ east of S.R. 66

DESCRIPTION:              The project is an ODOT funded project through the TAP Grant, designed to ODOT\Federal requirements and subsequently approved by ODOT for construction.  Project administration will be provided by ODOT. The engineering consultant will be required to provide all necessary preliminary engineering services such as surveying, bridge design, environmental studies, right-of-way, reports and approvals as required by ODOT.

TOTAL PROJECT                   
BUDGET:                           Including studies, preliminary engineering and construction, $3,800,000.

SOURCE OF FUNDING:    All preliminary engineering will be funded by the City of St. Marys.  Construction is 67% State/Federal and 33% City of St. Marys Funds.

PROJECT SCHEDULE:     Anticipated dates for design startup/bid award – October 2017/October 2020.  Anticipated date for construction – May 2021.
