ADDITIONAL SERVICES PROVIDED TO CITY OF ST. MARYS RESIDENTS

 

Monthly Brush Pickup - 1st Wednesday each month                                               

 

    The City of St. Marys provides free monthly brush pickup service to the residents within the corporation limits on the first Wednesday of each month

  •     Brush may be placed near the curb for pickup.

  •     Brush may not block street or sidewalks for an extended period of time.

Christmas Trees

 

    After the holidays, you can haul your live Christmas tree to the curb and the General Services Department will dispose of the tree for you.

 

Leaf Pickup

 

    Every Fall the General Services Department will haul your leaves away for you.  Just rake your leaves to the curb and the Department will pick them up with our leaf machine.

 

Spring Clean-up

 

    In May of each year the City provides a day for disposing of special items at no extra cost to the resident (limited to residents inside the City limits only).  This gives everyone an opportunity to dispose of items not normally set out on a weekly basis.  Loose items must be bagged, boxed or bundled and capable of being lifted by one person.  The date of the Spring Clean-up and the items that will not be picked up are posted in the local newspaper.  No hazardous waste items will be picked up.

 

Yard Wastes

 

    Dumpsters are available at the General Services Department on Chestnut Street for yard waste disposal.  Access is available 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. 

 

Special Services Provided by the Electric Distribution Department:

  1. On call personnel 24 hours/day;

  2. Removal of electric meter boxes when putting siding on your home;

  3. Trim tree limbs from around power lines;

  4. Maintain street lighting;

  5. Maintain traffic lights;

  6. Maintain lighting in our parks;

  7. Provide a rental light program for your home;

  8. Provide an electrical safety program;

  9. Check for low voltage to your home;

  10. No charge to read your meter between tenants;

  11. No charge to turn power on/off between tenants.

 Child Seat Check-ups Now Provided

The City of St. Marys Police Department now offers Child Seat Check-ups.  A Child Seat Check-up is  to have the installation of the child seat checked, make sure there are no recalls on the seat, check the expiration date on the seat, ensure the child fits within the guidelines for the manufacturers specifications (weight, height, age) and provide caregivers information on the laws associated with child restraint.  If you would like any information regarding these issues or would like to schedule an appointment to have your child seat checked, please contact Patti at 419-394-2325 ext 3182. 

OBB Program

Ohio Buckles Buckeyes is a program for WIC eligible families that have children in need of a Car Seat.  Only one Car Seat is given per WIC Eligible child for life.  Appointments will be made for every 3rd Friday of the month.  To receive a seat you must be WIC Eligible (guidelines available to determine eligibility), watch a DVD, fill out paperwork, and go through training on the installation of the Car Seat.  The child receiving a Car Seat must be present.  Expectant mothers must be present to receive a Car Seat for an unborn child.  To set up an appointment please call Stephanie at the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office at 419-739-6701 ext 248 or Patti at St.Marys Police Department at 419-394-2325 ext 3182.  Space is limited
