On May 31, 2021 Brian Parker was promoted to Police Sergeant. Brian has 8 years with the department and is a graduate of Memorial High School and Wright State University-Lake Campus with an Associate of Technical Study in law enforcement. He also served four years in the United States Marine Corp. Congratulations Brian!
The City of St. Marys will be holding a ribbon-cutting and open house for the new pool house at the St. Marys Family Aquatic Center from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on May 28th. Refreshments will be served and those in attendance will be able to register for a free drawing for a family pool pass for the 2021 season. Guided tours of the new pool house will be available to those interested in getting a sneak peak at the facility before it opens to the public.
The City of St. Marys will be opening the splash pad for the season on Thursday, May 20, 2021, in anticipation of the warm weather forecast for this week. The splash pad will be operational from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day through Labor Day weekend.

The St. Marys Police Department is saddened to announce that on Saturday, May 1, 2021, we lost our beloved K-9 member, Scout. On Thursday, Scout developed a Gastric Dilatation- Volvulus (GDV) and underwent emergency surgery, but died due to complications on Saturday.
Sam Rammel received the highest score on the promotional exam and was promoted to Captain-Paramedic. He took Oath of Office at Monday night's Council meeting. Sam is a graduate of Memorial High School and Columbus State Community College. He will assume the duties of Captain on May 1st. Congratulations Sam!
Brandon Rethman is the Fire Department's newest Firefighter. Brandon is a graduate of Versailles High School and Owens Community College and is a volunteer with the Osgood Fire and Rescue Department. He took his oath of office at Monday night's council meeting.
